My buddy swore I needed a $90 standing desk converter, my $15 laptop stand did the job
He set his whole setup up around one of those fancy sit-stand risers and kept telling me my flat desk was wrecking my neck, so I grabbed a $15 aluminum stand and a $6 wireless keyboard from a bin store in Tacoma instead. Three months in, my neck feels fine and my monitor sits at eye level without any motor or wobble. But now I keep wondering if I'm missing something, like maybe the standing part is the real fix and I just got lucky. Did anyone here try the cheap route first and then switch to a real standing desk later, or is the converter actually worth the money?
