My monitor arm yanked my shelf off the wall mid-call

Was in a video meeting last Tuesday when the whole left side gave way. My cheap clamp arm pulled the laminate right off the drywall anchors. Took me 20 minutes to prop everything up and finish the call. Rewired it with a solid wood backing plate and proper toggle bolts, cost me about $12 total. Anyone else trust drywall anchors and regret it later?
