Showerthought: the hotel business center desk in Reno taught me more about cable trays than any YouTube build
I was stuck in Reno for a work thing last month and the hotel business center had this desk setup that blew my mind. Nothing fancy. Just a $30 wire rack mounted upside down under the top, with every cord zip tied to it in little loops. Power strip screwed to the back leg. Label maker tags on each brick. I sat there pretending to print something for 20 minutes just staring at it. My setup at home is a rats nest of surge protectors and tangled HDMI cables piled behind a monitor riser. This was like $12 of parts from a hardware store. I took 6 photos with my phone. The front desk guy thought I was casing the place. Has anyone else stolen a setup idea from somewhere weird like a hotel or a doctor's office waiting room?
