That $12 pack of Velcro straps I grabbed at Harbor Freight changed my cable mess

I kept seeing people use zip ties for their desk cables and wondered why they were cutting and replacing them every time they moved a monitor. Those reusable straps take 2 seconds to adjust and you don't end up with a pile of clipped plastic.

Honestly I still have the first set of those I bought like three years ago and they're still holding strong. My buddy came over last week and was like "dude your desk is so clean" and I was just like yeah it's because I don't treat my cables like a one time surgery. He legit has a drawer full of cut zip ties and keeps buying more like they're disposable. Meanwhile I just loosen a strap whenever I swap my laptop dock around. It's the same energy as people who buy a new phone charger every time they lose one instead of just taping the damn thing to their desk.

Oh man, I feel this! I switched to reusable velcro straps a few years back and it was a game changer. I keep a couple extra ones in my tech bag for when I travel and they take up zero space. Tape trick on the charger is gold too - I just used a small adhesive cable clip stuck to the side of my desk and haven't lost one since.
