Had a lamp on mine for 6 months. Came home one day, lamp was on the floor. Desk looked like a slide. Now I've got a stack of thick textbooks holding up the middle. Looks ridiculous. But hey, at least my monitor isn't trying to assassinate my keyboard anymore.

Respectfully, I see it a little different. Particle board from Ikea is made for light use and that's a heavy monitor. You can't really blame the desk for doing what cheap particle board does, it's like putting a bowling ball on a cardboard box and being surprised it caves in.
