Hot take: swapping joystick caps is the most underrated mod you can do
I kept seeing people spend 40 bucks on aluminum thumbsticks when their real problem was just the surface texture. The stock caps on my Xbox controller felt slick after 30 minutes of Halo. I swapped them for some concave rubber ones from a cheap 8 dollar pack on Amazon. It took maybe 2 minutes with a plastic pry tool. Now my thumbs don't slide off during intense fights. Has anyone else found that a simple grip change fixed more issues than a full shell swap?

You mentioned the texture being the real problem, and that's exactly what I found too... did you notice any difference in accuracy with the concave shape versus the stock domed ones? Because I swapped mine out and it felt like my aim tightened up almost immediately, not just from grip but from how my thumb sat naturally in that dip.

Yeah so @wendy205 you're totally right about the concave thing. I got these cheap skullcandy ones and the dip just locked my thumb in place better than the stock dome. Honestly the biggest surprise for me though was how much it helped with fatigue. I was getting cramps after long sessions and now my thumb just sits natural. Tbh I think half the people buying expensive aluminum sticks would be better off spending 8 bucks on rubber caps and pocketing the rest for a new game.
