PSA: Watch out for cheap joystick potentiometers on Amazon

I picked up a 10 pack of ALPS style joystick pots for $8 on Amazon last month to replace some drift on my old Xbox controller. After swapping them in, the left stick felt super janky and had a dead zone in the upper right corner. Turns out the knockoff pots have way less tolerance than the real ALPS ones. I wasted about 3 hours desoldering and redoing the whole thing. Lesson learned, just spend the extra $5 and get genuine parts from a reputable seller like Console5 or DigiKey. Has anyone else had bad luck with those cheap bulk packs on Amazon?

Bet the seller was just drop shipping from AliExpress with a markup.

Those 10 packs for $8 sound like a gamble more than a deal, didn't you check the reviews before soldering?
