That guy on here told me to skip sanding my joystick shaft, big mistake

Last week someone named @glitchythumb said I didn't need to sand the metal shaft before putting on some new aluminum thumbsticks. I figured he knew his stuff so I just shoved them on. Now one of them is wobbling like crazy after 3 days of Apex. Gonna have to take it all apart and do it right this time. Anyone else get bad advice that cost them a controller?

Man that sucks, I feel for you. I did something similar with my Elite Series 2 last year, skipped the sanding step on the left stick because I was in a rush before a tournament. It went from snug to a full-on wobble after maybe two sessions of Warzone, and by day three it was clicking weirdly when I pushed forward. Had to order a whole new replacement module because I scratched the shaft trying to pull the old thumbstick off with pliers like an idiot lol. Live and learn I guess, but man it's frustrating when someone's advice just sets you back.

Watched a buddy try to fix his PS5 controller last month with a YouTube tutorial that said you could just use superglue to hold the thumbsticks on. He glued his thumb to the controller and had to walk around with it stuck to his hand for an hour before the acetone kicked in. Have you had any luck getting the wobble sorted yet?
