This week my left joystick swap turned into a 3 hour nightmare

I was trying to swap in some new Gulikit sticks on my Xbox controller and the ribbon cable ripped on the first try. Had to wait 2 days for a replacement from Amazon and now I'm paranoid about soldering the new one. Any tricks for keeping those cables from tearing so easy?

Yeah man have you tried using a pair of tweezers to gently lift the ribbon cable latch before pulling? I used to just yank them out but after destroying my first controller I realized you gotta treat those things like they're made of glass. Now I always check the latch is fully open and use the tweezers to guide the cable straight out, hasn't torn since.

I've yanked dozens of those cables without tweezers and never had a single tear myself.
