Took me a year to notice how much stiffer my joysticks got after swapping to aluminum thumbsticks
I put these metal thumbsticks on my Xbox controller last January and just realized last week that the resistance has nearly doubled. The extra weight is wearing out the tension springs way faster than the stock plastic ones ever did. Has anyone else had this issue with metal sticks ruining the feel over time?

Yeah swap back to the plastic ones before those springs give out completely, happened to mine in about eight months.

Before those springs give out completely" - yeah, that's exactly what I'm worried about now. But @barbarac67 did you notice if the metal sticks themselves got any looser over time or was it just the springs dying? I'm trying to figure out if swapping back to plastic would even fix it or if the whole mechanism is already shot. Like, the extra weight has to be putting strain on everything, not just the springs right? I keep going back and forth on whether to just replace the whole controller or try to fix it. The metal ones feel so good in the hand but man the tradeoff is brutal.
