Why nobody talks about joystick caps melting in summer heat
Left my modded Xbox controller in the car for 20 minutes last July in Phoenix. The rubber grip tops actually melted into a sticky mess, ruined the thumbstick feel completely. Has anyone else dealt with heat damage on replacement parts?

Oh man, "ruined the thumbstick feel completely" is exactly my problem too. I left my Switch Pro controller in the car after a grocery run last August in Texas and came back to what looked like melted gummy bears on the sticks. I tried wiping it off and just made everything worse, had to toss the whole thing because the surface was permanently sticky and gross. Now I keep a little insulated bag in my trunk just for my controllers, like they're some fancy takeout order that can't get cold. Lesson learned: if it's hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk, it's hot enough to destroy your joysticks.
