Found out the hard way that 'paintable caulk' doesn't mean paint it immediately
I spent last Sunday caulking my bathroom trim and went to paint it two hours later like the tube said, but it was still wet underneath and bubbled up everywhere. Turns out the fine print on the back says to wait a full 24 hours in humid conditions, which I totally missed because I only read the front label. Anyone else learn a DIY rule the messy way after skipping the instructions?

Eh, a little texture never hurt nobody.

Did you try to scrape off the bubbled spots before it fully dried or did you just let it be a texture situation? I've learned the hard way too that caulk is basically a liar when it comes to dry times. Now I just treat it like concrete and give it a solid day no matter what the weather is like. Also pro tip for next time is to keep a wet finger or a damp sponge to smooth the caulk out real good before it skins over, that way you don't have to sand anything later. And seriously check the humidity on your phone's weather app before starting, anything above 50% and you're playing a waiting game.
