Had to decide between spray foam and batt insulation in my attic
I was redoing my attic in Columbus and had to pick between spray foam for $1,200 or fiberglass batts for $400. Went with batts since I'm on a budget, but now I'm finding gaps everywhere and the R-value feels off. Anyone else regret skimping on insulation?

I did the exact same thing in my 1950s house near Columbus. Spray foam quote was $1,350, I went with batts to save money. Gaps are brutal. Cold spots everywhere in the winter. I ended up buying a cheap foam gun and sealing cracks myself. Still not as good as foam would have been. Honestly regret it every time my heating bill spikes.

Yeah and the thing is once you start sealing up those gaps you start finding more, it's like a whole new world of drafts you never noticed before. I chased one cold spot for two winters before I figured out it was coming from an old phone jack plate.
