My dad told me to stop overthinking my floor tile pattern after I spent 3 hours staring at layouts on the kitchen floor.

He said just pick one and go, and I realized I was driving myself crazy for no reason. Has anyone else had a family member snap you out of a DIY spiral like that?

Classic dad move. Sometimes you just need someone to tell you to pick one and move on.

Three times now my dad has told me to "just pick one" when I asked his opinion on logo mockups. Each time I ended up redoing the whole thing because picking one too fast meant missing the better option hiding behind an okay one. For big decisions like which font to go with on a client project or which email service to switch to, rushing it can cost time and money later. Sometimes taking an extra day to compare two options is the smart play, not the indecisive one. The whole "pick one and move on" mentality works great for what to eat for dinner, not so much for stuff that sticks around for years.
