Okay, maybe the $500 laser level wasn't overkill after all

I spent 3 weeks leveling cabinet runs with a 4-foot bubble level and kept getting frustrated with tiny gaps. I finally rented a rotary laser for $85 last weekend and the difference was night and day, my upper cabinets sit so much better now. Has anyone else fought with long leveling jobs before giving in to the fancy tools?
