Unpopular opinion: painting kitchen cabinets without sanding is a bad idea
I tried that liquid deglosser stuff on my oak cabinets last spring in Austin. Thought I was saving a weekend but after 2 months the paint started peeling off near the sink handle. Had to strip everything down and start over with actual sanding using 120 grit. Anyone else learned this lesson the hard way?

My buddy tried the same shortcut on his bathroom vanity and the paint was bubbling within a week. He ended up spending more time fixing it than if he'd just sanded from the start.
