Heard a guy at the hardware store say 'daylight is for planning, night is for doing' and it clicked for me

I was grabbing some junction boxes around 9pm and this older dude loading lumber just dropped that line while we were both waiting for the register... made me realize why I do all my best work after the sun goes down. Anybody else find they focus way better on projects once it's dark out?

That's a pretty dramatic take for a 9pm trip to the hardware store. I mean, the guy was just loading lumber, not dropping some ancient proverb. Plenty of people do their best work at 2 in the afternoon with the sun blasting in the window. I've started plenty of projects at midnight that I ended up hating by morning, so maybe it's less about the time of day and more about just getting in the zone. Sounds like you're romanticizing a random shopping trip.
