Learned to keep a magnet on a string in my toolbox after losing 14 screws inside a dryer last night
Spent 40 minutes fishing tiny screws out of a dryer drum with needlenose pliers before it hit me to tie a magnet to some twine. Dropped it in, pulled out all 14 in about 2 minutes flat, and now it lives in my box next to the tape. What's your go to trick for grabbing stuff you dropped in a tight spot?
Tie a small nut or washer to the other end so it drops straight down instead of swinging all over the place. Also works great for fishing nuts and bolts out of a dropped engine bay.
