My $8 heat gun from Harbor Freight beat the $60 one for shrink tubing
Two weeks ago my heat gun died in the middle of wiring a trailer harness in my garage, so I grabbed the cheap one as a backup and it heats faster and more even than the fancy one. Everyone says buy once cry once but the cheap one has a wider nozzle and I have used it on 14 joints since with zero issues. Anyone else got a cheap tool that flat out works better than the pricey version?
Bought a $12 angle grinder from Walmart three years ago thinking it would die in a week and I would be out twelve bucks, but that thing has chewed through more rusted bolts than I can count. Meanwhile my buddy dropped $120 on a DeWalt that started smoking on the second weekend. My wife keeps asking why I have three of them now and I just tell her they are backups, but really I just keep buying the cheap one because I am scared the good one will let me down.
