Saw a guy fix a snapped cabinet hinge with a zip tie at the Seattle tool library, now I keep a bag in my kit
I was at the tool library on Capitol Hill last Tuesday returning a router when I watched this older guy repair a broken hinge on their donation shelf using nothing but two zip ties and a screwdriver, and it held solid when he tested the door. I started carrying a pack of 11 inch zip ties in my bag after that because they weigh nothing and saved me twice already on quick fixes around the garage. What is the weirdest thing you keep in your kit that people would laugh at until they need it?
