Spent 3 nights fighting a stuck bike brake cable before I tried a soldering iron trick
The cable was fused inside the housing on my old commuter bike and no amount of penetrating oil or yanking would free it. I finally clamped the housing in a vise, hit the cable end with a soldering iron for maybe 20 seconds, and it slid right out. Anyone else got a heat trick for seized parts like this?
That sounds like a total nightmare, three nights of fighting a stuck cable would drive me up the wall too. Heat is honestly underrated for stuff like this since the metal expands at different rates and breaks the rust bond loose. Glad you finally got it out, soldering iron trick is going in my back pocket for sure.
