Had to choose between mesh count 110 and 156 for my first multicolor print
Picked the 156 because I wanted more detail on a small text layer, but then my base coat came out too thin and I had to do three passes, has anyone else run into this issue with tighter mesh on fabric?

Did you use a white underbase? That's usually the trick for dark fabric.

Three passes for a base coat on 156 mesh sounds about right honestly. 110 gives you a thicker deposit but you're trading detail for it. If the print's laying down clean and the details are sharp, that extra pass is just the cost of doing it right.
