Hot take: rubber squeegees from the hardware store beat the $40 "pro" ones for small runs
I know everyone pushes the fancy yellow squeegees with the perfect durometer, but last Saturday I ran 30 shirts for my buddy's band using a $6 rubber squeegee from Ace Hardware in Portland and the prints came out cleaner than anything I got with my $42 one. The cheap one has a softer edge that lets me push ink through 110 mesh without flooding the whole screen, and honestly I stopped fighting the stiff blade halfway through the run. Maybe it's just me, but I think for home setups under 50 pieces, the hardware store option is straight up better. Has anyone else tried going cheap on tools and actually getting better results?
