Overheard a guy at the art supply store say screen printing is dead
He was telling the clerk that digital printing killed it, but I just printed 30 shirts last weekend with a $20 kit from Amazon and a coat hanger, so how dead can it really be?

Wait, a coat hanger? lol you used a literal coat hanger to print shirts? That's wild, I can't even get a coat hanger to stay straight in a closet. Screen printing is definitely not dead if people are MacGyvering it like that.

You're out of your mind if you think a $20 Amazon kit and a bent wire hanger equals screen printing being alive. That's like saying blacksmithing is thriving because you hammered a bent nail straight with a rock. The real shops that used to do 500 shirt runs for local bands and schools are gone or switched to DTG because the margins don't work anymore. Your little basement project with one color on white shirts isn't the same as someone running a 6 color job with halftones and registration marks. That ship sailed a decade ago when digital got fast enough and cheap enough for basic orders. Screen printing is a niche hobby now, not an industry.
