Shoutout to my cheap $15 scoop coater, my old spoon method was such a mess

Tried flooding screens with a credit card for 8 months, then grabbed a basic scoop coater at a garage sale in Austin, and now my 20x24 screens come out even every single time, anyone else struggle with uneven emulsion coats before upgrading?

Three years ago I was using a plastic putty knife and praying to the screen printing gods every time I pulled a coat. My buddy who runs a shop in San Marcos told me to stop being cheap and I finally caved after ruining a brand new 110 mesh screen with a huge glob in the corner. Now I got a used scoop coater from a flea market for like eight bucks and it changed everything. The trick is also to angle it just slightly when you push, not keep it flat like most people try. I still mess up on my tiny 6x6 screens though, those are just cursed. How long did it take you to dial in the pressure with your garage sale find?
