Six months of reusing screens, then a 2 minute test changed everything

I've been stripping and recoating old screens for half a year, thinking I was saving money. Last week my buddy asked why my prints looked muddy, so we did the water drop test on a screen I'd just reclaimed. Water soaked right through, meaning my stencil was never fully cured, I just never noticed because I always printed dark ink. Anyone else skip the basics like that and regret it later?

Did you check the edge of your stencil with a fingernail before printing? I read somewhere that if it scrapes off easy, your exposure time is off and you're just building on a weak base.
