Wasted $45 on that speedball screen filler, my emulsion already worked fine
So I read somewhere that screen filler was the secret to cleaner edges and bought a jar for $45 at the local art store in Portland. Spent a whole Saturday blocking out my mesh with it on three screens, waited for it to dry, and ran a test print. The edges were somehow worse than just using my emulsion properly, and I ended up with blotchy patches where the filler didn't sit right. Stripped all three screens with the pressure washer and lost about 4 hours of my weekend plus the cost of the filler. Turns out my real issue was just not degreasing the mesh good enough before coating. Has anyone else gone down a rabbit hole buying gear when the problem was actually your prep work?
