Dollar store command hooks beat the name brand ones for my hanging plant wall

I picked the $1.25 pack of clear hooks over the $8 hardware store set for my kitchen plant wall, and after 4 months they've held up through every steam and water splash. Has anyone else had luck with those cheap adhesive strips when the pricey ones fail?

The dollar store ones surprised me too. I put a bunch of those clear hooks along my bathroom wall for towels and loofahs, and they've stayed put for almost a year now. The fancy ones from the hardware store started peeling off within a few weeks, which was frustrating since I paid way more for them. For the plant wall, I think the trick is making sure the wall is super clean and dry before you stick them on, and then give them a full 24 hours before hanging anything heavy. Mine have taken some serious humidity from hot showers and never budged, so I'm totally on board with the cheap route.
