Dollar store picture frames turned into a spice rack, customer watched me struggle for 10 minutes
Guy comes into the shop last Tuesday to drop off his Civic, sees me eating lunch out of a Tupperware. Asks where I got the organizer on my bench. Told him it was five $1.25 frames from Dollar Tree with the glass popped out, glued together in a stair step pattern. He just stared at me, then said "you glue glass frames to hold your hot sauce?" Laid out the whole build for him, how I used the backing boards as shelves and zip tied them to the pegboard. He actually took a photo of it before he left. Anyone else repurpose frames for something dumb that works way better than it should?
Did the same thing with old CD racks from a thrift store, cut them down and screwed them to the wall for can storage. Ten years going strong and it cost me four bucks.
