Glue gun gripes: hot melt failed on dollar store frames

I tried framing some pressed flowers with those $1.25 wooden frames and a basic hot glue stick, but the flowers kept slipping off after about 2 hours. Turns out the glue needs a rough surface, so I sanded the frame lightly and it held up fine, but that extra step cost me a whole afternoon. Has anyone else dealt with dollar store frames being too slick for standard crafts?

nah hot glue works fine if you just rough it up first, thats on you honestly
