Had to pick between foam brushes and paint rollers for a dollar store vase project
I was at Dollar Tree in Denver last week trying to make one of those faux ceramic vases with the chalk paint they sell. Foam brushes are like $1.25 for a pack of three but the paint roller was also $1.25 for a two pack. I grabbed the foam brushes first because I figured they'd give smoother lines. Got home and the foambrush left all these little lines on the glass. My friend said the mini roller would've flattened out better because it pushes paint more evenly. Has anyone else run into this with dollar store painting tools?

Yeah the foam ones always leave those little ridges no matter what you do. The mini roller will give you a way more even coat on a vase because it lays the paint down flat instead of dragging it. I've done a bunch of those dollar store vase projects and now I only use the rollers for the base coat then maybe a foam brush for touch ups around the rim or bottom.
