That one comment about my $1 frames made me rethink everything

I posted a photo of my gallery wall last month, all frames from Dollar Tree, and someone said my $1 frames looked 'cheap because the glass glare was killing the vibe.' I was salty at first ngl. But then I looked at my pics and they were right. So I hit up Dollar Tree again and grabbed a can of matte spray and some felt pads. Sprayed the glass lightly, not the art, and it killed most of the glare. The felt pads made the frames sit flush instead of looking like they were floating. Whole wall looks way more put together now. Cost me $2.25 total and like 20 minutes. Has anyone else gotten weird feedback on dollar store stuff that actually made you improve? What was the fix? I'm curious if I'm the only one who got defensive first.
