DAE think tracing paper is a waste for check prints and nobody wants to hear it
I stopped buying the good tracing paper 8 months ago and switched to plain 20 lb bond for all my check prints and redlines. My lead drafter swore the ink smears would ruin everything, but I did side by side tests on 15 sheets and the cheap paper held up fine as long as I let it dry 30 seconds. The roll of bond at the supply shop in Tulsa costs $11 versus $38 for the vellum I was using, so I've saved over $200 since spring. The one real tradeoff is the bond curls more in the plotter tray, so I have to flatten sheets under a board overnight before they go in the job folders. Anyone else ditch the fancy media for everyday prints, or am I going to regret this when a client asks for archival copies?
