Found out I was laying out my layers backward after a senior drafter walked by and asked why my elevations showed the wrong siding

He pointed at my detail callouts and said 'you're basically building the house inside out' and then I had to redo three weeks of drawings for a 40-unit apartment complex near Denver, has anyone else had a moment where one comment saved you from a huge mistake?

So my buddy Mark, he's a structural guy, was doing this big warehouse expansion. He had the main steel beams all spec'd out and called to check on delivery. The steel plant told him he'd ordered the flanges on the wrong side for the whole roof system. He'd been drawing it backward for a month. If he hadn't called, they would have fabricated a hundred beams that couldn't even hold up a tarp. He says that phone call saved his whole career.
