Had a close call last week with an outdated template on a set of shop drawings.
I was a day away from sending a full foundation plan set to the contractor when I noticed the border title block was from 2019 - wrong project number, wrong revision block. Has anyone else nearly sent out old junk because someone in the office didn't update the template file?

That close call is the worst kind of heart-stopper.

Why does the template matter that much if the actual drawings are correct? The contractor is looking at the plans and details, not the title block border. I've sent out stuff with the wrong revision block before and nobody even noticed because they're too busy building from the actual dimensions and notes. Maybe we're overthinking this whole template perfection thing. If the drawings themselves are accurate and the project info is clearly listed somewhere on the sheet, a date stamp from 2019 isn't going to hold up construction.
