Had a senior drafter tell me I was over-dimensioning everything

He said I was adding 1/16th clearance to every hole when really 1/32nd would do, and it's been saving me time on revisions since I tried it on a job for a local metal fab shop. Anyone else get called out for being too safe with tolerances?

My uncle got fired for over-dimensioning on a navy job back in '92.

Wait, are you sure it was '92? I thought the Navy switched to metric fully in '91, so over-dimensioning might have been a different kind of problem back then. Or maybe it was different for your uncle, @paulperez.
