Question about that one nightmare job that spiraled out of control

Last Tuesday I had a simple 2000 sq ft residential remodel that was supposed to take me 5 hours, but the architect sent over 6 revision emails during the job. Each one changed the wall layout and forced me to redo the floor plan and elevations from scratch in AutoCAD. Has anyone else had a client or architect wreck an entire day with last-minute changes like that?

Oh man, did you end up billing them for all those extra hours? I had a similar thing happen last month where a homeowner kept texting me changes while I was already halfway through measuring. One of the changes meant I had to recalculate the whole framing layout because they decided they wanted a pocket door where a regular door was supposed to go. It threw off my whole day and I almost missed my kid's soccer game because I was stuck fixing things on site. Five hours turning into a nightmare just because someone can't make up their mind.
