Rigid foam insulation slipped on a steep roof job, cost me 2 hours and a near miss
I was working on a ranch house off Highway 17 last Thursday, trying to get foam panels fitted between rafters on a 12/12 pitch. The panels were slick from morning dew and I lost my grip on one, it slid down and knocked my layout square off the ridge. I ended up having to climb down, reset my safety harness, and recheck every measurement because I couldn't trust my marks. Took me two extra hours to finish that section. Has anyone else had trouble keeping panels in place on a steep pitch without a helper?

Just a heads up, 12/12 isn't a ranch roof pitch - those are usually way lower, like 4/12 or 6/12. Sounds more like a cape or a custom build you were on. That dew-slick foam is a nightmare though, no lie.

Last week I noticed the same confusion at a lumber yard where a guy insisted his colonial revival needed a 12/12 pitch. People mix up roof styles with pitches all the time, like assuming all steep roofs are Victorian or all low slopes are modern. It's a small thing, but it really shows how much general knowledge gets blurred in this trade.
