Shoutout to the old-timer who said my 0.5mm lead was too fine for site sketches

My clutch pencil snapped a full set of leads on a windy rooftop last month, and I had to finish with a carpenter's pencil. Anyone have a durable mechanical pencil that can handle field work?

Man, I used to grab whatever cheap clutch pencil was at the checkout line! I thought they were all the same. Then I had one snap on me mid-sketch, the whole tip just gave out. That mess totally changed my mind. Now I actually look for ones with a metal clutch mechanism, it makes a huge difference.
