Spent 2 hours debating rivet vs bolt on a steel detail, and the answer was right in front of me
Had a beam connection at a warehouse job in Fresno where the engineer left the fasteners up to me, so I sat there going back and forth on rivets or bolts for way too long. I picked bolts because they were easier to swap out later, and the whole thing went fine until my lead looked at the drawing and asked why I didn't just check his mark from the start. Turns out he had scribbled 'bolts only' in the corner the day before. Ngl I felt like a real genius. Two hours of my life gone over something already answered. Now I scan the sheet edges before I even open the spec book. Anyone else miss the note that was sitting right there the whole time?
