Spent three hours trying to get a custom hatch pattern to scale right in a detail view.

I was detailing a section for a steel connection and the hatch for the concrete footing just would not match the scale of the rest of the drawing. Turns out I had the hatch set to annotative in the main model space but not in the layout viewport. Has anyone else run into this scaling headache with annotative objects?

So you fixed it by making it annotative in the viewport too? Did that mess up the scale anywhere else?

Just wait until you copy that viewport to a new sheet. The annotative objects can pick up the wrong scale from the other layout if you're not careful.

Yeah, the annotative thing in viewports gets me too. I always double check the properties palette in paper space and make sure annotative is turned on there. Sometimes you have to sync the scales list between model space and the layout.
