That week in April when everything went wrong in my drafting software

I had a stretch last April where my CAD file got corrupted three times in five days while working on a commercial project in Cleveland. Lost a whole afternoon of electrical layer work because I didn't have an autosave backup set right. Has anyone else dealt with file corruption from too many nested blocks? I switched to purging my drawings every 30 minutes after that mess.

I had a similar thing happen with a lighting plan once, and I literally watched the file size start climbing and the program get sluggish, but I just kept stacking blocks like an idiot. It wasn't until the third time it crashed (I know, I know, I'm slow to learn) that I realized my annotation blocks were nested like four or five deep. The purging every 30 minutes thing is smart. I started doing a full audit and purge before every save after that nightmare.

Nested blocks four or five deep" is exactly the kind of thing that makes me think the same blind spots show up everywhere, not just in CAD. Its like when I pile up too many shortcuts in my workshop drawers and suddenly cant find a single screwdriver.
