Visited a print shop, their drafter had some wild shortcuts

Stopped by a small print shop in Tacoma last week to drop off a set of PDFs. The guy behind the counter must have been 70, and he pulled up my file on this ancient monitor. He caught two dimension errors in about 30 seconds that I'd stared at for hours. Told me he learned drafting on a board in the 70s and still sketches out tricky sections by hand before touching CAD. Said his eyes just know when something looks off. Made me realize how much I rely on software to catch my mistakes. Been thinking about adding a manual check step to my workflow now. Any other drafters still do a quick paper sketch for complex details?
