Why does nobody talk about layer offset issues in architectural drafting?

Last month I was working on a set of commercial plans for a project in Austin and realized my layer offsets were causing a 3/8 gap in the wall alignment. My senior drafter says it's a non-issue as long as the dimensions check out, but I've seen contractors get confused and order wrong materials over smaller things. Which side do you fall on - do you fix every tiny offset or let the shop drawings sort it out?

Trust me, that 3/8 gap will haunt you at 2 AM when the steel shows up.

Honestly @karenhenderson I used to blow off tiny gaps too but you're right that 3/8 is a problem later.
