Hit my first 500 hours on the Ellicott 370 this week

I started running the 370 back in March at the Port of Savannah and honestly thought I'd be crawling by now. But I just checked my log and hit 500 hours without a major hiccup. It's a small milestone but it really surprised me given the tricky clay we've been dealing with. Anyone else keep track of their hours or just fly by the seat of your pants?

Heard a guy at a trade show say those Ellicotts basically just keep going if you don't let the mud bake on the cooling fins. Clay is nasty stuff for sure, I've seen it plug up a cutterhead in under an hour if you don't stay on top of it. Sounds like you're doing something right if you made it to 500 without drama.

Oh nice, 500 hours is solid! I actually read somewhere that those Ellicott 370s can run for years without major issues if you just keep up with the basic maintenance.
