I finally figured out why my cutterhead kept clogging on sand

Been digging around in the maintenance logs and realized I was running the ladder too fast for the grain size. A slower swing at 10 feet per minute cut my downtime by half. What's your go-to trick for keeping the slurry moving?

Man, that's a rough one. I've been there with a different machine but the same kind of headache. It's funny how something as simple as speed can mess everything up. Running too fast is usually my problem too, makes the whole thing feel like it's fighting itself. Good on you for digging through the logs, most guys just blame the material and move on. Slow and steady wins the day.

Buddy tried that on his lathe last week. @wadeg92 nailed it. Same mess.
