Spent 5 hours fighting a suction hose clog at the Wilmington job only to find a kid's sneaker jammed in the intake
We were pumping silt off a dock slip near the Cape Fear River and the dredge kept losing prime every 20 minutes so I pulled the whole suction line apart twice thinking it was a worn gasket. Turned out some kid's size 3 sneaker had wedged itself sideways in the intake screen and the flow was just strong enough to hold it there. How do you all keep trash out of your suction without choking the flow down to nothing?
