Swapped my cutterhead teeth mid-run and it wrecked my whole afternoon

I usually change teeth at the start of a shift, but last Tuesday on a job near Baton Rouge I figured I could squeeze in one more pass before swapping. About 40 minutes in, the pump started pulling harder and the slurry got real thin, I thought it was just a soft spot. When I pulled the head up, three teeth were cracked and the cutter ring had gouges I had to grind down. Lesson learned, I guess, anyone else try to push a worn set and end up paying for it in downtime?
