Vent: Lost a full day's pay on a bad pump rebuild kit

Bought a cheap rebuild kit for my main suction pump from a new supplier online. The gaskets blew out after just 4 hours on a sand job in Mobile. Had to shut down, pull the pump, and order the right parts overnight. Cost me about $1200 in lost time and extra shipping. Anyone know a solid supplier for Gravel King parts that won't fail fast?

Got to disagree with you there, @nora54. A four hour sand job can be pretty satisfying if you're in the right zone with some good music. It's one of those tasks where you see the progress right in front of you, you know? The time can fly by when you get into a rhythm. What kind of sander were you using that made it feel so long?

Honestly, did you check the kit specs against your exact pump model before you ordered? Sometimes those cheap kits are for older versions and the gaskets just don't fit right. That mismatch would blow out fast under pressure.
