Back in the 90s, we used to cut all our drywall with a utility knife and a straightedge, but now my whole crew uses a cordless rotary tool for almost every cut.

I switched about five years ago after seeing a guy in Phoenix zip through a whole house worth of outlet cuts in half the time, and I'm curious if anyone else has a specific brand they swear by for that kind of work.

Man, I feel old now. I was still using the knife and straightedge method way too long. That rotary tool is a total game changer for getting through a stack of sheets. My only regret is not switching sooner.

Honestly, that "game changer" feeling is so real.

But come on, a game changer? It's just cutting paper. A sharp blade and a metal ruler worked fine for decades. My grandad built a whole business with just an X-acto knife. This feels like calling a new toaster a life altering event. It's a handy tool, not some huge revolution.
